From many stories of impact, here are a couple that show what’s possible.

Situation Room - public engagement on climate adaptation

The Situation Room is an immersive public engagement project for the Catchment to Coast Programme, funded by DEFRA and delivered by Southend City Council and partners. Using video storytelling, polling, and deliberation, the Situation Room sessions captured views from 300 Southend and Thurrock residents on flooding, coastal erosion, and water scarcity.
The project boosted support for nature-based solutions like leaky dams and salt marshes, raised council trust by 8%, and earned a 9/10 enjoyment rating. Insights are shaping local plans and the Situation Room is now available for wider use across England.

Shaping Family Services
with Nesta’s ‘A Fairer Start’ team

In April 2025, we worked with Nesta’s ‘A Fairer Start’ mission to engage disadvantaged families and early years experts in shaping a long-term vision for integrated family services.
We ran five online workshops with 54 professionals using our Zeitgeist platform to explore areas of disagreement in a Delphi-style survey and deliberation. Families took part in in-person deliberative workshops using animated scenario films to prompt discussion on access, delivery, and the purpose of joined-up services. Insights are now informing Nesta’s policy recommendations to the UK Government.
